Apple announces patch for notebook battery issue


MacBook or MacBook Pro users must be much relieved to here that the company has finally come up with a solution to resolve the battery issues related to performance, such as shorter than usual battery life or problems charging the battery. The company has issued some software updates in the Apple menu and its website and has advised the owners of the above mentioned note books bought after February 2006, to download these software updates.
The company has also mentioned on its website that in case the fix doesn’t work, notebook users should contact Apple to have their battery replaced if they notice the following symptoms.
• Battery is not recognized causing an “X” to appear in the battery icon in the Finder menu bar.• Battery will not charge when computer is plugged into AC power.• Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300.• Battery pack is visibly deformed.The issues are just related to the performance of the product according to the company.
